Dave Winer

Dave Winer is my favorite blogger. His blog is http://scripting.com/ and he operates many other sites devoted to his ideas and the software he creates.  I read him daily.  He is prickly and opinionated and not everyone's cup of tea.  He was one of the A-list bloggers that cyberbullied me around the turn of the century when I was suffering a mental breakdown due to stress and lack of sleep.  Nonetheless, I read him.  I also have written him occasionally to offer tips on subjects he might find interesting, nearly always links. A month ago when I copied him on a tip, I included an unsubscribe button, which he clicked; I have not and will not email him again. Today he posted on Facebook a general warning to all: "Please refrain from sending me unsolicited texts and emails. Should you not do so I will contact the appropriate legal authorities." I guess I am not the only one he is "unsubscribing" from...

Regen VIllages, a contemporary version of the Village of Arts+Ideas?

In the Seventies I was a co-founder of the Village of Arts+Ideas, an intentional community dedicated to a vision of an eco-village.  This talk by James Ehrlich introduces a modern version of that vision.  I am fascinated and intrigued!
