cattails catastrophe

Cattails are spreading widely around northern lakes. Studies show that this increases methane emissions compared to forests that usually occupy these areas. As a result, methane production by these areas is projected to increase 70% over the next 50 years. According to the EPA, methane is 25X more problematic than carbon dioxide in terms of climate change.
